Med spas are a strong fit for Google Ads. People search with clear intent, treatments are valuable, and clients come back. They’re also one of the easier categories to get wrong, because Google treats parts of your menu as healthcare.

Know the policy before you write an ad

Google’s healthcare and medicines policy restricts ads that promote prescription drugs. Injectables are prescription products, so brand names in your keywords or ad text can get ads limited or disapproved. Weight-loss medications are restricted even more tightly.

In practice, that means writing ads around the result and the experience instead of the product name. Talk about smoothing fine lines, your injector’s training, and how easy it is to book. Policies change, so check Google’s current healthcare and medicines policy before you launch anything new.

Watch your audience targeting too

Google also limits personalized ads based on health. Remarketing lists built around specific treatments can run into trouble. Search campaigns that show up when someone looks for a treatment near them are the safer, stronger place to start.

Track the appointment, not the click

The goal isn’t a click on “Book now.” It’s a completed appointment in Vagaro, Boulevard, Mindbody, Square, or whatever you book through. Most of these platforms can pass a completed booking to Google Analytics or Google Ads, either through an integration or a confirmation page you can track.

Give each conversion a value close to the service price. When Google knows a facial is worth less than a laser package, it can bid accordingly instead of treating every booking the same.

Split campaigns by treatment value

One campaign for everything lets your cheapest service eat your budget. Give your high-value treatments their own campaigns and budgets, so a slow week for facials doesn’t starve the treatments that pay the rent.

Fill weekdays without discounting your brand

  • Use ad scheduling to lean into the days and hours you most need to fill.

  • Promote packages and gift cards around the holidays, when people are already shopping for them.

  • Keep your Google Business Profile current with hours, services, and recent photos. It often shows up before your site does.
